The previously high hopes for the Dallas Cowboys 2020 season keeps slipping further and further away despite the best efforts of the rest of the NFC East. After another uninspiring loss to the division rival Washington Football team, the Cowboys sit 1/2 game back of the division leading Eagles. They might as well be 1500 miles away (the physical distance between Philadelphia and Dallas) because there is no chance of catching the Eagles at the present rate. The Dallas Cowboys 2020 season has gotten so bad, that the team is socially distancing themselves from even being remotely competitive in games. Certainly when it comes to tackling, rushing the quarterback, or covering open receivers, the team is successfully maintaining a safe distance. However, the battered offensive line is allowing the opposing pass rush and run defense to get too close for comfort to the Cowboys backfield.
Head coach Mike McCarthy, his entire coaching staff and all of the players have been called into question and justly so. The injuries they have had to overcome are one thing, but the apparent lack of effort and competitiveness is inexcusable. The defining moment which exemplified the current state of the team occurred on the illegal hit by Washington linebacker Jon Bostic on quarterback Andy Dalton. The lack of response by the Dallas Cowboys players who failed to stand up for their injured teammate has been the hot topic of conversation and for good reason. Mike McCarthy was very displeased with it and addressed the incident in his post game press conference by saying:
The lack of response showed how unwilling this team is to fight. They failed to put up a fight in the football game, they failed to fight adversity, and they failed to fight for their teammate. This team was previously known for taking pride in the concept of “finishing the fight”. Now, the only time we did see them fight was when Antwaun Woods shoved his own teammate Dorance Armstrong after the final whistle was blown. After witnessing that debacle, it has become apparent that he Dallas Cowboys 2020 season is a finished fight.

The entire Cowboy coaching staff & Elliot need to be let go. Dallas is the biggest joke in the NFL. Hand this loss to terrible coaching and another turnover by Elliot deep in Dallas territory. 3 times in red zone with field goals only once with 1st & goal from 3 disaster. Turn out the lights 3 win season horrible. Jones is first who needs to go if team ever able to build back to a winner.
