A copy of Emmitt Smith’s rare 1997 Metal Universe Green Precious Metal Gems card is up for public auction for just the fourth time ever.
Only 15 copies of the Dallas Cowboy legend’s Green PMG parallel were printed. These copies seldomly appear at public auctions – only two have sold publicly in the last three years.
Just five copies from the set have been graded. PSA gave this card a 5. This is the first time this specific copy has hit the auction block.
“Green PMGs are easily among the most sought-after parallel prints in existence,” said Jesse Craig, Vice President of Sales at PWCC Marketplace. “They’re almost impossible to find due to their extremely limited print runs, especially for Hall-of-Fame players like Smith. They’re also notoriously condition sensitive, so to find them in any condition is a rare occurrence.”
The highest price ever paid for an Emmitt Smith card is a PSA 8.5 copy of this PMG Green issue. It sold at PWCC in Sept. 2021 for $49,200.
This card is available in PWCC’s December Premier auction until Dec 15.
