Dallas Cowboy fans are certainly not the most popular bunch among the NFL’s 32 fanbases. In fact, I think that most Dallas Cowboy fans would agree that they would probably be considered the LEAST popular according to fans from the NFL’s OTHER 31 teams. What Cowboys fans might not agree on so easily, is which of the other 31 NFL teams fanbases are the least popular according to fellow Cowboys fans. Thanks to a recent fan compatibility survey conducted by Bookies.com, that argument can be settle once and for all.
In this recent survey, 50 fans from every fanbase across the league were asked whether they would date a fan of another team. Quite literally, they determined in which rivalries there is “no love lost” between fans. Not surprisingly, Dallas Cowboys fans were chosen as those that opposing fans would be least likely to date. What was surprising, was the fanbase that the 50 Dallas Cowboy fans interviewed determined was the least compatible.
It wasn’t their historic rival The Washington Football Team. That rivalry has faded over the years although Washington did make the top 5 least compatible list. It was not the New York Giants (who also made the top 5 list), and no it was not even those hated, despicable, deplorable Eagle fans. I would have bet the farm on the Eagles but they actually finished a distant second place. So who is this mysterious non-divisional rival whose fanbase is considered so incompatible according to these 50 Dallas Cowboys fans who were surveyed? It has to be the Steelers right? No, it isn’t them. Maybe the Patriots? Everybody hates the Patriots right? Wrong! It is NOT Bill Belichick’s evil empire. What about the 49ers? Close, but no cigar. San Francisco did also crack the top 5 but they were not the #1 team on the list. The number one, least compatible fanbase with the Dallas Cowboys is….The Denver Broncos. The Denver Broncos? Really? I mean, there is some history there but come on…that can’t be right. Well, have a look at the results:
