The NFL draft is by far the most exciting and unpredictable draft in all of the major pro sports.  It is that uncertainty that makes it so entertaining and such a marque event.  Every year countless experts will try to predict how it will play out with very little success.  There is often some consensus leading up to the draft until a couple of surprise names are announced at the podium and fans and experts collectively say “Whaaaaat???” After the conclusion of the 1st round we often find ourselves saying “I can’t believe that (insert player name) is still there!”  Then as we start to get hopeful for round 2, the process starts all over again but with even more uncertainty.

This mock draft is unique in that it will attempt to take that surprise factor into consideration with a few educated and some intuitive guesses on the rise or fall of some of these players.  Be warned, some of these picks may surprise you, make you shake your head in disdain or even make you down right angry.  In this particular draft QB’s are selected early, which will eliminate the possibility of some of the expected trades.  There will be a couple of high end linebackers and cornerbacks slipping down the board and some notable 1st round calibre players not selected at all.  Do not be alarmed at these omissions but keep in mind that while most NFL GM’s have less than 20 players with 1st round grades, fans and mock drafters typically have more 1st round graded players than there are 1st round selections.
