DeMarcus Ware may have won a Super Bowl as a member of the Denver Broncos, but he will always remain a Dallas Cowboy in the hearts and minds of Cowboys fans. He achieved much fame and admiration during his career with the Cowboys for terrorising opposing quarterbacks and becoming the All-Time franchise leader in sacks. It also appears that for the man I consider the greatest outside linebacker in franchise history, his feelings towards the Dallas Cowboys and their fans is mutual.
DeMarcus Ware has had a pretty busy this week in Dallas. First he made an appearance on the HBO series Hard Knocks as he dropped in on Cowboys training camp to give a few pointers to rookie LB Micah Parsons. Then, this past Wednesday, he visited AT&T stadium to join forces with the first-ever official whisky sponsor of the NFL, Crown Royal. The Canadian whisky brand is the number one selling whisky brand in the world and has recently teamed up with the NFL on The Crown Royal Water Break campaign that encourages drinking in moderation on game day; as well as The Purple Bag Project which supports the members of the military by providing them with care packages. This time, the NFL is teaming up with Crown Royal to help support one of their longtime partners the Southern Smoke Foundation, which is an organization that provides crisis relief across the country for people in the food and beverage industry from farmers and winemakers to dishwashers and servers. To date Southern Smoke has distributed nearly $9 million dollars in relief funds since the foundation’s inception in 2015. To kick off the start of the 2021 NFL season, Crown Royal hosted a “Night of Service” for hospitality and stadium workers and announced a $50 000 donation to Southern Smoke. This initial donation is part of Crown Royal’s year-long commitment to donate $1 million dollars to national and local charities. As part of that commitment, through its “kick off with Crown Royal” program, the brand will host future “Nights of Service” benefiting hospitality and stadium workers as well as military veterans.
